ABOUT THE GAME

Q: What is Otherworld Heroes? 
A: Otherworld Hereos is the world's first (and largest) AR Location-based MMORPG - where you for the first time get to experience a GPS enabled mobile game featuring real-time multiplayer at its core. Imagine if Pokémon GO and World of Warcraft had a love-child, then this is how we envision it to be - hope you enjoy it as much as we do...

Q: What platform is this game for?
A: This is a mobile game available for both Android devices and iPhone devices. It is optimized for smartphones, not tablets (even though you can play it on tablets of course).

Q: What is the lowest compatible mobile operating system to run the game?
A: Otherworld Heroes is compatible with the following devices:
For Android users --> [Android 5.0]. 
For iOS users -->  [iOS 9.0].

Q: What kind of connection do I need to play the game?
A:  A cellular is required to play the game. The game also requires a GPS connection to enable the map-based gameplay. You may experience difficulties playing the game if connections are weak or inconsistent.

Q: I am an Android player - what kind of permissions do I need to approve to play the game?
A: Otherworld Heroes needs access to your device's location in order to enable map-based gameplay (mandatory).

Q: How to revoke approval of access authority on Android?
A: Please follow these steps to revoke the approval of Permissions:
[Android 5.0 or higher] - Settings > Apps > Choose Application > Permissions > Revoke Permissions
[Lower than Android 5.0]- Update OS or delete App to revoke approval of Permissions

Q: I am an iOS player - what kind of permissions do I need to approve to play the game?
A: Otherworld Heroes needs access to your device's location in order to enable map-based gameplay (mandatory).

Q: Does the game cost anything to download? 
A: Otherworld Heroes is free to download and play with in-app purchase options.

Q: When is it released?
A: The game is currently being soft-launched in selected markets around the world. We will let you know when we release the game in your country (--> information sent out via email and communicated in our Discord Channel).

The game is also live in parallel in our Closed Beta, where players around the world are able to join in and experience the game while being part of the journey of improving current features or testing out our latest features and/or fresh content which we intend to push out to the rest of the world as soon as our QA and playtesters have tested it, and the Dev Team has had the chance to make it as awesome as it needs to be to make the game better.

ABOUT THE CLOSED BETA

Q: How do I access the Closed Beta?
A: 1st step is to sign up via the landing page in order for you to be added to the waiting list.
2nd step involves joining our Otherworld Heroes community via Discord.

We strive to get you into the game as soon as possible - however, sometimes it takes a bit longer as we are constantly focusing on improving the game.

You can always get in touch with us in the Dev Team via Discord --> so please get in touch in case you need help to get your invitation to download the game.

Q: I play on iOS - how do I install and play the game?
A: First time installing the game? Then follow these simple steps:

  • Sign up for the Closed Beta via the landing page? --> http://www.otherworldheroes.com/
  • This will put you on the waiting list - as soon as you are invited, then you will get an email from TestFlight.
  • Look for an email invite from Test Flight (please do check also your spam filer in case it was placed there by mistake).
  • Open the email and follow the instructions.
  • Open Test Flight and choose to Redeem.
  • Enter your redeem code and start testing.

Q: How do I update the game on my iOS device?
A: Update Otherworld Heroes directly in your TestFlight app on your device.

Q: I play on Android - how do I install and play the game?
A: First time installing the game? Then follow these simple steps:

  • Sign up for the Closed Beta via the landing page? --> http://www.otherworldheroes.com/
    This will put you on the waiting list - as soon as you are invited, then you will be able to download the game (the invitation is either sent out via email or communicated via the Community Managers on Discord).
  • Install Otherworld Heroes in Google Play or, click on the following link and follow the instructions --> Install via Google Play

Q: How do I update the game on my Android device?

Q: I am trying to download the game via Google Play, but I am experiencing issues...
A: Let's answer a question with a series of questions to help you out:

  • Have you signed up for the Closed Beta via the landing page? --> http://www.otherworldheroes.com/
  • Have you received an invitation via email or has a Community Manager in our Discord Channel invited you to join the Closed Beta?
  • Does your device meet the requirements to play the game?
  • Are you signed into Google Play with the same email which you used to sign up for the Closed Beta?

If you have answered yes to all of these questions, then please contact any of our awesome Community Managers on our Discord.

Send them a direct message (DM) including:

  • summary of your issue
  • the email address you signed up with
  • what type of device you are playing with
  • a happy emoji of your choosing

GAMEPLAY ISSUES OR QUESTIONS

Q: How do I move my Hero in-game?
A: This a Location-Based game - meaning that you have to move around in the real world in order to explore the epic Dimensions featured in-game.

It’s time to get moving — your real-life adventures await!

Q: I am not able to leave home at the moment - will the game suck for me?
A: Not at all - one of our visions when creating the game, was to make sure that we delivered a kick-*** map-based experience, but also a gameplay experience that allows you to extend your fun while at home, at school, or at work.

We believe that every Hero in the Otherworlds should prepare before heading out on any given adventure - so please make sure to check out the Crafting section to create healing potions and other extremely useful things.

There is also a number of features which when unlocked, gives you access at any time, wherever you are:

  • Prove yourself in the Dungeons (solo and multiplayer unique for each Dimension)
  • How far can you get in the Gauntlet?
  • Honor your allies by slaying the mighty Clan Bosses

Also, you can always check your surroundings in-game at any time - the monsters populating the mysterious Dimensions are constantly on the move, meaning that the chance that a monster or a pack of monsters are lurking towards you is a given one... Happy Hunting!
